Dns not updating records

The problem is that the PTR aren't actually updated and, sometimes, the A record isn't either.

Also, I have a number of stale records in the reverse lookup zone that I really can't explain.

I'm really not sure, though, since I don't know what I'm looking for and there are really a LOT of events.

Hello, It appears we are having what seems to be the exact same problem on our network.

Clients are mostly Windows 7 machines with a few XP and Vista.

Since we're a small network, we've decided to live with the issue rather than invest a lot of time to investigate.Hello everyone, I have a strange problem and I can't seem to see anything that could cause it.We have a network with a segment for client machines that uses a couple of Windows 2008 R2 servers for DNS and DHCP (all AD-integrated).I've seen similar issues in our environment (de-centralized management), and it's always permissions on the DNS records.Sometimes there will be different permissions on the A records than on the PTR records.
